In the subpar weather conditions, the Open Age squad made the journey to Chester, with Zac Ford and Callum Martin playing in their first game for the team. From the off, the Portico lads greatly showed their determination to prove themselves and their ability as a team, with a try from Paul Valentine following a conversion from Dan Boardman shortly after two tries and a conversion from the opposition all during the first half.

Despite the weather taking a dark turn, this didn't affect the Portico lads, as they showcased their vast improvements in defence and communication. Although the time was running low in the second half, no points were scored from either team which was a testament to Portico's goal line defence and their defence as a whole with brilliant attacking sets throughout. Within the last ten minutes, the game was abandoned due to the harsh weather conditions, finalising the score of 10 - 6 to the opposition.

Well played lads, onto the next! 💚💛
