U11s Leigh East v Portico Panthers u11's
The under 11's traveled over the border to Leigh East hoping to emulate the victory from their home fixture earlier in the season.
Early pressure from Leigh saw the Panthers go 4 nil down, but Sam Lomax showed great pace to score in the corner, then moments later he gave Portico the lead with his successful conversion.
The lead was extended further when Connor Ryan wrong-footed the Leigh defence with a great close range try, which Lucas Molyneux converted to take the Panthers to an 8 point lead. Leigh East responded with two tries, one of which was converted, to take them into a 14-12 half time lead.
Shortly into the 2nd half an accidental clash of heads between two Leigh players resulted in a premature end to the game, as the players were not able to return to the field. Both players were applauded by both sets of players and fans and we send them our best wishes for a speedy and full recovery. 💚💛
