Last year we produced a 5 year business plan to detail our vision, plans and map out our continuous growth on the pitch.
We are ahead of schedule with two U7 teams now taking to the field, an army of Cubs having fun whilst learning the basics and a new U15 girls team regularly training.
Part of the much longer term plan was, amoungst others, to eventually re-establish and field an Open Age Men’s team and introduce an Open Age Women’s team.
Thanks to the super human efforts of coaches Mark Thomas and Den McGee, team manager Nikki Griffths and a tremendous bunch of lads who have registered, I am delighted to announce that on Saturday 23rd July at 2:30pm, our brand new Men’s open age team will take to the Scholes Lane field against Rochdale Hornets Rugby League Club.
A brand new kit has been kindly sponsored by 2SD(NW) Ltd. I would like to extend huge thanks to John Dickson who has been inspirational during the sponsorship deal.
In addition to the players, coaches, team manager and sponsorship, this has been made possible by the relentless work of Karen Smith and Sean Furlong who have guided the club through the registration and associated administrative tasks.
So let’s get behind the new era. A very special day is being planned to mark the occasion with lots of surprises to ensure it will forever be remembered. There will be a BBQ put on and the bar will be open afterwards.
