Portico Vine Panthers U12s v Accrington Wildcats U12s
Panthers were really up for this one after a tough battle on Thursday and showed it from the first whistle. A great short kick off from Kieron led to the lads starting on the attack when Mckenzie dived on the loose ball. This quickly led to the first try scored by Mckenzie but it couldn't be converted. With it working the first time Kieron kept hitting the short kick offs leading to a few more turnovers. This combined with a confident strong defensive line gave the Panthers a 20-0 halftime score with Tyler and Warren both crossing the whitewash.
Second half Accrington tried to do the short kickoff but unfortunately for them just couldn't get it under control. Accrington seemed to wake up in the second half and managed to break through on 3 occasions but Portico kept the score board ticking over. One try came from amazing defending led by Warren and a strong line who forced a drop out and then 2 tackles later we got over the line.
Excellent performance from all the team who look like they are really gelling together.
Couldn't be more proud of them.
