Following the final planning meeting with Matty Smith and Glenn Youens last night, the club are delighted to share the following…
Our club has been selected by St.Helens RLFC and St.Helens Women to be the hosts for Saints Community Development Foundation to deliver the Rugby Football League ‘RugBees’ programme exclusively for girls aged 7-11.
Girls as young as five years old are being bombarded by messages and labels that undermine their self-belief, crush their confidence, and make them feel as though sport is not a place for them, hearing and seeing messages on a daily basis which imply they are not as good as boys and they don’t belong in sport.
‘You tackle like a girl’
The brand new RugBees programme is aiming to tackle these stereotypes and redefine what Rugby League means to girls. RugBees is the exciting new programme aimed at girls aged 7 to 11 which will offer a fun introduction to rugby league, developing skills and confidence in an environment designed to help young girls thrive. Weekly sessions will be delivered from Portico Vine with no need for memberships, just a small fee per session.
The community programme will see us officially join forces with our friends at Violet-Grace’s Gift 💚💛❤️💜
This is a real honour for our club and testimony to our ethos of working with the community, for the community.
Please share the post and/or the poster far and wide.
