Upon kick off, the Portico OA lads started off strong with a try from Kurt Asson leading from a bomb kick by Lewis Furlong within the first ten minutes. Dan Boardman successfully scored a conversion immediately after.
Further on into the first half, Lewis Furlong scored a try from a well-timed crash ball and the conversion was unfortunately missed.
Despite breakthroughs from the opposition, the lads persevered and remained composed throughout, and made good efforts within their defence by filling gaps wherever possible – as well as brilliant tackles from all of the lads, including tackle features from: Mick Ehlen; Jordan Dowie; Ryan Penny; Ben O'Toole; and Rob Cole with covering tackles as full back.
As the lads heard the full time whistle, the final score was deemed 10 - 40, but it didn't represent the game or the efforts the team put in.
