Widnes Moorfield 8 vs 32 Portico Panthers

NWC Divison 5

Widnes Moorfield v Portico Vine Match Report Portico have gone 4 weeks without a game and all the lads were eager and hungry to play All the time spent on the training pitch showed straight away with a solid defensive line and pushing up strong together. Some of the tackles the lads were putting in were bone crunchers. Ones that stood out were Ryan Hughes and Anthony Gray. Ryan had a phase where he was involved in every tackle in a set showing great determination and grit whilst Anthony, after a great training session on Thursday night taking down 2 coaches showed the same strength and ability taking down their big lads. Going forward every move was flowing quite nicely from Kieron Manweiler sitting in at dummy half . Some great team tries scored by Issac Heyes, Mckenzie Pope , Ryan Hughes, Tyler Dawson and Max Manion and a superb length of the field kick return from one of three debutants Sam Barnes who was making a second debut for the club after a few years away The other two players starting on there debut were twins Leland and Brodie Lazarou. Leyland slotting in at 2nd row had some powerful runs and a poweful tackle in the dying minutes and Brodie took up the role in at half back with some strong dynamic running. Not one player didn't perform today and the attitude across every man in the team was a pleasure to see. To say we are buzzing would be an understatement. Emensly proud of every single one of them. Roll on next week when we play at home vs Accrington Wildcats.
