I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to our Events team for creating, planning and delivering one of the most historic occasions the club will ever likely experience.
The time, energy, passion and commitment they gave to providing an opportunity for our members and the wider community was there for all to see. From decoration to activities, games and catering and everything in between. There were a phenomenal amount of ‘unseens’ over a protracted amount of time that led up to the day.
I am acutely aware that doing things for others is part of their DNA so achieving such accomplishments with the celebration of the King Charles III Coronation should come as no surprise.
For generations to come, they have embedded lasting memories for our young people and grown ups alike. That takes very special people to do that and I am proud and honoured to volunteer alongside them and forever grateful that they chose Portico Vine as the second home for their families.
There aren’t enough superlatives to describe the effort that went into the event but I have received a huge amount of positive messages from people who attended - those connected to the club but also those who weren’t and hopefully now encouraged to become part of us.
I am immensely proud of our collective ethos of Working With the Community, For the Community. Equally, I am grateful for all volunteers buying into the One Team One Dream vision. These mottos underpin everything we are trying to achieve for people from all walks of life under the umbrella of community rugby league.
