*News Story 1 of 3*
The club have three huge pieces of news to bring you over the next few days, on what will go down as another monumental week in our rich history.
First up, the news that little old Portico Vine have been selected as only one of five clubs nationally, to partake in a trial being ran by DOCIASport in conjunction with the RFL and RLWC2021 legacy programme board.
The project will explore how we can embed the wider community into our new clubhouse and use the facilities as a well-being hub. The aim is to establish stronger community links with partners through collaboration to focus on local issues such as loneliness, anti social behaviour, cost of living, mental health in the young and elderly, business support and increased physical activity.
The project scope fits perfectly into our commitment of working with the community, for the community.
The partnership has already begun with a steering committee elected and initial meetings having taken place. I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to the Managing Director of DOCIASport, Ian Braid for reaching out to our club and for the ongoing support of the Rugby Football League and Rugby League World Cup.
This project would not be possible without our very own selfless volunteers who have offered to head it up alongside Ian. They are Jo Norton, Ian Skerry, Sam Bonney and Tracey Leung-Fullerton.
These are truly exciting times for our club and as ever, I will keep you fully updated on progress.
Make sure you keep your eyes out for the second dose of amazing news coming tomorrow.
Hobes 💚💛
