Statement just released by the RFL
Good afternoon
The RFL Sub-Group met this morning to consider the next step in terms of the phased return to play as set out in the RFL’s Action Plan. The next step would have permitted the controlled introduction, within a training environment, of full contact activity.
It concluded that more time was needed to consider the increased prevalence of Covid-19 within the community, together with the need to assess this morning’s briefing by the Governments Chief Scientific Advisor and Chief Medical Advisor. Further announcements from Government are expected tomorrow.
A full update both in respect of permissible training activity and further activity scheduled for autumn will be communicated later this week.
Until such time as further RFL guidance is issued the level of permitted activity at training remains unchanged.
